About Country Day School
Quality Individualized Education
Country Day School is owned by KLA Schools. Headquartered in Miami, Florida, KLA Schools opened its first school in 2008 in downtown Miami. KLA Schools of Brickell’s educational success has provided the opportunity for expansion in South Florida and, in recent years, throughout the United States. We are proud to have CDS be part of our growing family, and hope to share our love of learning with all of our new families in Huntsville.
Country Day School is an inviting, respectful, and consistent environment. Our goal is to provide a place where children’s abilities, competencies, and natural aptitudes are nurtured in ways that develop new and inherent talents.
Our students flourish in an atmosphere where they are encouraged to work effectively in groups as well as to recognize their own worth and talents as individuals.
We seek to provide an environment of warmth, challenge, and support for all our students, whether they are preschoolers watching the mysteries of the world unfold, primary students making exciting discoveries, or elementary students working together to problem-solve challenging questions.
Our mission is always to provide a safe, innovative environment and high quality education for the students of our communities. As a school, we value:
All children are honored as individuals who are intrinsically motivated and are active participants in their learning.
Families, educators and children are partners in learning and research.
Environments are safe, nurturing, and designed to promote experiences that invite children and adults to enter into meaningful dialogues that foster children’s innate curiosity, creativity, and thinking.
Relationships are at the core of our educational approach and are built with our surroundings: people, materials, and environments.
Through documentation, the learning process of teachers and children is made visible for furthering understanding, expanding on concepts, and celebrating ideas.
Our educators believe in the child’s competency and potential. They embrace children’s ideas, points of view and participation in their learning experience. Our educators appreciate professional development in understanding more and more about the child’s thinking and learning processes.
Children have their own strengths and interests, and when given the opportunity to share, they support the expansion of the knowledge of their peers and teachers. We offer children a place to become aware of their love for learning. Children are honored in our program and acknowledged as the protagonists of their learning experience.

KLA Schools is working diligently to enhance the school. We’re starting with our new website, a refreshed logo, and amazing new images. Stay tuned for news about enhancements to the facilities in the weeks and months to come! We can’t wait to share with you all that we have in store for this amazing school.
A Nurturing Educational Environment
The Country Day School is unique; we provide an atmosphere conducive to learning in a stimulating yet nurturing environment. Our students have all the benefits of excellent learning opportunities without the pressures that often accompany them. Mistakes are viewed as a healthy part of the learning process, not something negative to be avoided. Here students may reach their fullest potentials, while developing confidence and a love of learning that will endure throughout their lives.
Our faculty and students share a relationship of warmth, energy, joy, commitment and risk-taking; the atmosphere encourages students and faculty alike to think, grow, contribute, and achieve. The mission of The Country Day School is to prepare young people not only for their academic futures, but also for life.
Because our school combines traditional standards of academic excellence and discipline with innovative approaches to learning, our students gain the skills that success requires, and the flexibility that change demands. The school nurtures enjoyment of learning and problem-solving in that students respond enthusiastically to challenge. Our students excel both inside and outside the classroom.
Our Personal Approach to Education
At The Country Day School, our personal approach to learning begins with a commitment to small classes where education, not crowd control, is the focus of the day. Our very special teachers offer students opportunities to explore and master new skills and concepts in a relaxed, happy environment where each child is stimulated to reach his or her highest potential. We urge you to meet our talented faculty and speak to our active involved parents.
